Turkistan Roaches
(Blatta lateralis)
Turkistan Roaches drop egg cases instead of giving live birth so they reproduce very, very quickly. Newly hatched nymphs are very small, about 1/8 of an inch or smaller and blond. They change color to red and get redder as they get older. Turkistan Roach adults look so different from each other that they are easy to tell apart at a glance. The adult males are blond with full wings while the adult females are dark reddish brown with no wings. Pick out and use extra males as feeders and keep your females for breeding.

Turkistan Roaches are small roaches, only the size of a cricket.
Turkistan Roaches do not burrow and run around drawing lots of attention to themselves.
